Exploring Your Subaru's Fuel System
There is a range of systems under the hood of your Subaru that should be maintained and checked regularly. One is the fuel system because it allows you to get from Point A to Point B. Your fuel system comprises many parts, including the fuel pump, fuel filters, and fuel injectors.
What Are Parts of a Fuel System?
Fuel pump: The part that transfers fuel from the gas tank to the engine so your Subaru model can run smoothly.
Fuel filter: The part that protects your engine from unwanted particles, dirt, and debris.
Fuel injector: Sprays (or injects) fuel into the intake manifold so that it can burn easily in the engine.
Fuel tank: The main storage for the fuel that keeps your vehicle running.
Combustion chamber: This is where the burning of the fuel and air mixture takes place.
What Are the Symptoms of a Bad Fuel System?
Typically, the signs of a bad or failing fuel system are easy to spot. Some of the most common include:
- Having a hard time starting the engine
- Slow acceleration
- The Check Engine light turns on
